But then that is what the Musketeers do!! What a surprise ending!! I just know you will love this one!!Ī mysterious lady clinging to a stone gargoyle on the roofline of Notre Dame Cathedral cries out for help to Charles D'Artagnan as he passes below. It chronicles how the Musketeers come to the defense of a lady-who really isn't who they think she is. This is a short novelette which is realty good. Take the baby or leave it? Which would serve best and does it in the end? For the child, this has life-changing consequences most couldn’t begin to imagine. Someone has abandoned a baby on a rock in the middle of a desolate moor. Old Margie, fleeing for her life from the emperor of the Angressi people’s palace, comes across a strange sight. Sometimes the consequences outweigh the gain. A witch (healer actually), a foundling that she adopts and a mystical bird like creature who is bound and determined to get the girl who was actually left as an offering for him! I think I am going to have to start reading this fantasy series!!Įvery action, however good or bad the intent, creates a consequence. I admit I never even thought of reading that series until I read this prelude. ![]() This is a prelude to the series Darkspires.
